Welcome!
My name is Veronika (Nika) Coate and I have been in the Navy for five and a half years now. Living on the ship for two years was difficult, but eventually I babysat for a few of my fellow sailors and their families. Before the Navy, I was working two jobs (non – consecutively) and I moved out of my parents house during my senior year. Always having been independent and having a free spirit, I wanted to experience life my own way, make my own mistakes. As a child, I was always taking care of the younger children and even though I was never able to babysit during my teen years, I have always had a passion for helping children learn and grow. I’ve worked with church groups in California, even took care of a little boy with special needs. I do not have professional experience with special needs, but I can assure you I have a lot of patience (in the military, you need to have this trait) and many of my friends would say I have a gentle heart and that I may care too much about people. Being adopted and from a different country makes you that way, I suppose.
Being 24 years old and single, I have a lot of friends who have just given birth or have three to six month olds that I often watch. If you need any references, I have their names and numbers that I can personally send to you before you even consider hiring me.
