My name is Allie and I have been caring for children for twelve years. I am 24 and have just received my degree in Literature and Elementary Education at Lesley University. Children are one of the great joys in my life and the best job for me is playing with children and taking care of them. I’m definitely an outdoor person. I put Mary Poppins as my profile description because this summer, a little child said “You’re just like Mary Poppins!”

I have worked at many outdoor camps and love taking children on hikes and playing outside. I am very creative and love cooking, crafting, and making up new games to play. I enjoy both boys and girls equally and feel that I can understand and relate to them both. I take the phrase “en loco parentis” very seriously so when in my care, your children’s safety and well being is my first priority. I have some experience working with children with special needs as last summer, I worked at a summer camp for children with severe emotional disturbances. I have also worked with children with moderate special needs at several nature camps. If your child is special needs, I will listen to everything you tell me about what he or she needs to be safe and happy and consider these things when I am caring for your child. I do not believe in talking down to special needs children or “dumbing things down.” Your child will always be treated with the utmost respect in my care. I am told I am an excellent cook so if you need me to prepare nutritious meals for your children while you’re gone, I am more than happy to do so.
