Hi there! My name is Mary Stankard. I’m 24 years old and have recently moved to the Port Jefferson area. Since September, I’ve been helping a seven-year-old girl, of a COVID-conscious family, with online schooling. She will be returning to in-person learning the week of April 5th and going on break beginning March 29th. I’ve been nannying and babysitting for almost four years, having worked with children as young as two and as old as nine. Though I do get along with any age! Two summers ago, I worked as a camp counselor at a sleep away camp in the Lake George area. My campers’ ages ranged from six to nine. Some responsibilities I’ve taken on over the years have included picking children up from school, preparing snacks/meals, participating in playtime, assisting in potty training, taking children to parks/libraries, helping with homework, and bathing/helping with bedtime routines.

In terms of the pandemic, I consider myself to be incredibly COVID-conscious. I never go anywhere without my mask, keep a very limited social bubble, and am in the process of making a vaccine appointment. I have no problem getting tested.
