I enjoy working with children and really getting to know them. Finding out what they find interesting and exploring those things. Teaching them about how they are fantastic and unique just the way they are and helping them be comfortable with that.

I have the one kid who is just so brilliant but he’s still sweet and interested in everything. We have the most amazing conversations. We like each other as humans even if there is 40 years age difference.

In another family I have a young lady who is probably not going to need me any more after NYE, but we cook together, Thai, Indian, crepes, pizza. We just have fun. One night we spent hours decorating straw hats.

I also really like knowing that I make the parent’s lives easier. I am teaching Dad to cook and Mom, well she works a long day and all she has to do when she gets home is make her tea and scrambled eggs and spend positive time with her kids. She knows I will take care of getting them where they need to go and dealing with all the parts that go with having school aged kids these days.

I gotta admit I love it when everyone is hanging in the living room together in front of the fire with the cats and dog and I feel so lucky to have been allowed to be part of their lives.

I wish everyone liked their jobs as much as I do mine.

Wouldn’t the world be a happier place.
