Im a dedicated educator with a progressive approach to teaching and curriculum design. With over a decade of experience across diverse academic settings, Ive developed deep expertise in literacy, inclusive education, and early intervention. As a certified NY State Literacy Specialist and Dual Certified General/Special Education Teacher, Im committed to nurturing a love for reading and writing in children while celebrating inclusivity and multiculturalism.

In my professional journey, Ive worn many hatscurriculum design consultant, content specialist, and professional development leader. I had the privilege of serving as an executive at Sesame Workshop, where I helped shape Sesame Street content, developed curriculum guides and parent resources, and facilitated educator training workshops. Im also the founder of The HK Institute for Wonder and Play LLC, a boutique educational enrichment agency that provided innovative learning pods and one-on-one tutoring throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Beyond my formal work, Ive spent an immense amount of time with children from all walks of lifeand it brings me profound joy. In addition to the countless students Ive grown to adore as my own, Im blessed with six nephews and three nieces who are truly the light of my life. Ive played a major role in their daily lives, and nothing makes me happier than our adventures together: creating and managing a shared lending library, exploring arts and crafts, conducting science experiments, tending to our garden, running our lemonade stand Delicious Delights, and engaging in everyday joys like pancake breakfasts or watching Frozen for the 100th time on a rainy afternoon.

I believe in nurturing curiosity, creativity, and emotional well-being through play, structure, and compassionate guidance. Whether its bedtime stories, morning routines, or imaginative play, I bring warmth, patience, and a wealth of experience to every moment I spend with children.
