Hello, I’m Maddie! I recently graduated from Columbia University this spring with a degree in Urban Studies and Sustainable Development. Currently, I am taking graduate classes from home due to COVID-19. I started working with children when I was a freshmen in high school and haven’t stopped since! I think young folks can teach us all a lot and I have loved learning from the children I have worked with so far!

In high school I babysat for a family with one toddler-aged child and tutored for another family with three boys in grades 4-7. At college I was a Resident Advisor and peer advocate for both first-years and upperclassmen. For the three summers prior to this year, I worked for the Fresh Air Fund, a non-profit providing free summer experiences for underserved youth from NYC. There I worked with children ages 8 – 15 with behavioral needs, medical needs, and differing abilities in both small and large groups. I am also comfortable supporting any remote learning your child may be doing in the upcoming year!

When I am not working on schoolwork, I really enjoy hiking, spending time with my two dogs, reading, or visiting with my Nana! I have recently taken up road biking and try to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible. Given my remote learning program, my schedule is very flexible. I own a small SUV and have a clear drivers license and I am certified in both CPR and WFA.
