I truly enjoy working with children every day and seeing how my work contributes to their development as growing human beings. It is an amazing thing to watch children learn about the world, about one another, and about themselves as they engage in a variety of activities throughout their years. To be able to be a part of the fundamentals of learning at an early age is a wonderful thing to be involved in and is a truly influential and purpose-filled profession. I have been employed at a children’s gym where I led, and assisted in leading classes for children. These classes work on developing introductory motor skills and the fundamentals of athletic development for children ages 6 months through 10 years old. I have work experience as an Assistant Teacher at a day care in the toddler classroom where I worked with children ages 1 1/2 to 3 1/2. Here, I conducted activities that focused on the toddler’s language development, social skills, listening and communication skills, motor skills, movement and play. I facilitated activities to foster the children’s individuality and creativity allowing them to learn and explore using all of their senses. I provided children with a balance of fun and new activities while keeping a basic daily routine to help children understand consistency. I can change diapers and feed children of all ages, as well as work with children who are being potty trained. I have worked with children with severe food allergies as well as children with delayed language development. I have babysat for children ages 6 months to 12 years old. I have my own car. I am CPR and First Aid certified. I am a certified Mandated Reporter. I have taken an online course on Shaken Baby Syndrome.
