I moved to Albany in July 1999 to start a new life. I moved in with my boyfriend Rich in Menands. I started to volunteer at the cat adoption room at the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society from August 2001-March 2007. In Nov 2007 I started to volunteer at Whiskers Animal Benevolent League. I took care of the office cats, leukemia cats, fiv cats, and the senior citizen cats. I raised my black and white cat Oreo, from a 6-8 week old kitten and had here for 16 years. She had a stroke. We got her medicine but she would not take it. She just moped around and sat in a chair in my room. We took her back to BideAwee and I said goodbye and she was given the shot and she went. Oreo was cremated in the cemetery at BideAwee. I donated money to put a brick down in her name in the cemetery which is still there. The adoption center moved to Manhattan. The other cemetery is in West Hampton.
