As a camp counselor to young children aged from four to five years old, I learned quite a bit about what responsibility means. I was able to watch these kids over a course of eight weeks, grow into young little independent campers. I had the opportunity to not only care for the children, direct and supervise their activities, but also got the chance to guide these young ones through personal growth and help facilitate their daily living skills. More importantly however, this job taught me about the value of patience and made me realize how much I truly love working with kids. If I can act as a role model and engage the kids in stimulating but fun activities, there is nothing I’d rather do.
