I began working with children babysitting in middle school in which my experience included picking up two boys from school, playing at the playground and some homework help. In high school I worked as a swim instructor for children aged 3 to 9. I enjoyed guiding kids to accomplish something that was important and fun for them. I then attended Manhattan College where I completed my degree in elementary/ special/ childhood education. The August after graduation I served with Jesuit Volunteer Corps/ Americorps as a second grade teacher in Hays, Montana.
