My name is Alejandra Cruz, I am a student at the school of the museum of fine arts, I have been babysitting for the last nine years, I started babysitting my neighbors children and my mother’s friends children at age 15, then by their references I started babysitting for other families. After being in Boston for a while I found a job at a family daycare in brookline as a daycare assistant/ arts and craft teachers, this has been my favorite job ever! being able to interact with many different little personalities, observe how they grow, learn and develop individually, and just being a part of their daily life and being able to care for them and love them was absolutely special, although it was always heart breaking when they left the daycare to go to pre-k.
I worked at the daycare for three years until may 2011, we did arts and crafts activities twice a week, where the children experimented color mixing with painting, collages with different textures, masks, mobiles, and activities that had a theme such as halloween, mothers and fathers day, chrismas etc.
I have also (and still do) babysit the daycare children outside of daycare on an occasional weekend, or during the week I sometimes babysit children that no longer go to the daycare, and is great to be able to see them again!
I am looking forward to fonduing a family that I can help out with their little ones, this is something that I truly enjoy and feel that is a reciprocated job, it helps me grow as a person because I think we have so much to learn from children, the simplicity with which they view life, but at the same time how fragile and vulnerable they are, so we have to be selfless and give them our all.
