My educational background consists of a BA in Psych and a MA in Education. My career has been working in early education primarily at Church affiliated preschools (20+years), mainly because I have fun, enjoy the children and value early education. Additionally, since 2021 (Covid), I worked as a private teacher and caregiver for an 18 mos and 3 year old, (now 5 and 7 respectively). Early education has been my passion as I believe that a great education program will lead to a child’s future success, during these formative years. Working for several years with the same family has proven this ideology. The eldest child has excelled in her classes at school and continues to enjoy science and reading. I also truly enjoy the challenges, energy, curiosity and love of learning demonstrated by the students! I, Like them, enjoy being active and thus engage them in hands-on, multi-sensory, interactive activities that develop the whole child. By building on a child’s strengths, interests and imagination they can learn anything. My goal is to develop happy, creative, confident, caring and inquisitive, self-thinking individuals. I also worked in business and as a tutor/substitute teacher prior to staying home with my three children; thus, I have experience with all ages. I enjoy being outdoors, hiking, visiting museums, zoos, reading and gardening. I am a non-smoker, like dogs and have attended first aid, CPR and communicable disease workshops. Having worked in early education for a number of years, I have also had regular background checks completed.
