My name is Shelby Soumar and I am completing my Junior year at Illinois State University. I am studying Special Education with a concentration in Learning and Behavior. I am currently working in an elementary school in Bloomington school with 4th and 5th grade students. I work at a church childcare serivice with 2 to 3 year olds as well. Duties include diapering, potty-training, snack time, and providing play activities to the children.I am a part of a service organization on campus at Illinois State. Through this organiation I have been able to work at several childcares of various ages as well. I have worked with children with and without disabilities. I work as a recreation leader at West Suburban Special Recreation as well. This organization offers recreation and leisure activities to participants with disabilities. Overall, based upon my experiences I am a qualified childcare provider.
