I am a compassionate person who has experience working with children of various ages – infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and grade school kids. I spent 15 years at a small non-profit helping kids with developmental disabilities learn to acquire increased social skills, enhanced communication, and improved self-help skills. Currently I work as a classroom aide at a daycare center with toddlers and 18-month-old children. My typical day involves sympathetically problem-solving the difficulty of sharing toys, dealing with the loss felt from a friend who does not want to play with a particular someone that day, and respectfully helping children manage the huge need they have for power and autonomy at this age. I plan age-appropriate, engaging activities. I play with the children in my care. I treat them the way I would want my own children or family members to be treated.
