My name is Sarah J. I like working with kids because I value honesty and like to have fun. I love to read, play, and explore. I believe that literacy is one of the most important things you can teach a child. I have played a handful of instruments, and am currently learning the guitar and Spanish. I’m looking to work with someone who nurtures their child’s needs without coddling them. I don’t believe that a child’s every want should be catered to, however, I believe that there is such a thing as too many rules. It is extremely important to me that I share similar child rearing philosophies with the families I work with. I focus on imaginative play, educational entertainment, and healthy food. I believe in conversation with discipline. I’m strict but fair and try to encourage personal responsibility from the children I care for. I’ve been watching children since I was eight and have experience with kids from infant to 12 years old. I’ve done everything from babysitting to being a live-in nanny. I have worked in a daycare and a kindergarten class and have observed in pre-school, and speech and occupational therapy settings. I have an associates degree with an emphasis in education and have completed CPR, First Aid, HIV and blood borne pathogens training. I can’t wait to meet you and your family.
