I moved here about a month ago from Pittsburgh, PA. I have been babysitting a myriad of families (from 1 5 children) since my early high school years I have never used/needed Sitter City because I have always been happily referenced via word-of-mouth family to family.
I love this work, I am readily available to watch children as I am, what some would call, a “boring 23 year old” but the truth is, few gigs at this time in my life beats babysitting and I am very excited to continue this in Chicago.
I will say, I work as a freelance magazine writer (and am currently looking for serving/barista work) so am unable to work full-time but evenings/weekends/parent date nights? I’m your girl.
I also have a lot of experience with children who are not allowed to watch TV (no problem, I’d much rather be outside, running around than sitting at home) and those who have diet restrictions/allergies (epipen qualified through experience by parent though, I never needed to use one, thank goodness).
I do not have a car, or a license, for that matter I am a city person who prefers public transit and biking which may hurt my qualifications, but I am just being honest and it has never been a problem before.
I have a lot of experience with large families (as I have one), from 2 children at once to as many as 8 by myself (hectic but doable).
