I am a current Master in Social Work student at Loyola University Chicago and a recent graduate from Notre Dame (2011). Last year, I worked as a Family Support Counselor for children ages 7-17 in the foster system in San Diego. As a Counselor, I worked on self-esteem building exercises with the children, utilizing age-appropriate play, art, & team-building exercises. I am CPR & First-Aid Certified, as well as proficient at American Sign Language and have beginner Spanish skills. Before I graduated college I worked for a babysitting agency called PinchSitters Org. as a professional child care provider; I maintain good relationships with these families and continue to work for them whenever I go home to New Jersey.

I hope to work with children as a professional Social Worker once I earn my degree! I love teaching kids new songs, dances, and games—the more I learn about human development the more I know how important it is to engage with children on an emotional and intellectual level, with their safety and comfort always at the forefront.

I moved to Chicago in January and although I don’t have a car, I am learning that the L and busses are much easier here than in NYC!
