I grew up with a sister who is 14 years younger than me, so I experienced babysitting and taking care of her for nearly four years until I moved away to college. My sister has taught me numerous tricks when it comes to children and it has given me the ability to easily read children. Furthermore, patience and creativity are two skills she has taught me as well.
For the last year I have babysit for a family of two children, one ten year old boy and a six year old girl. I played with them, made them dinner, took them out, picked them up, and help them complete their homework. I was also in charge of caring for their dog while at the house. Unfortunately, they need someone who can devote more time than I can (seeking a full-time nanny) so I am no longer going to be with this family.
