Hi Families!

My name is Mayra, and Ive been working with children for over five yearsfrom toddlers to middle schoolers. I have a Bachelor’s degree in History, but my true passion has always been working with kids. I’ve supported children in a variety of roles, including tutoring, one-on-one care for children with special needs, and classroom teaching.

Ive worked with AmeriCorps, Chicago Public Schools (particularly in cluster special education classrooms), and now serve as a lead toddler teacher at a private daycare in Bucktown. I recently returned to this amazing center and continue to babysit for families Ive previously worked witheven during my time away.

I bring energy, warmth, and a play-based approach to childcare. I love outdoor games, creative activities, and believe learning happens everywherenot just in a classroom. Im also comfortable helping with homework, dinner prep, and nighttime routines.

Currently, Im available for evening and weekend babysitting. While I dont have a car, Im very comfortable navigating the city and reliably use public transportation to get to and from jobs. I have all the necessary clearancesbackground check, fingerprinting, and drug screeningand Im preparing to begin my Masters in Special Education this spring.

Im also pet-friendly (I have a tuxedo cat myself)!
