I have both personal and professional experience working with children, which has helped me develop a strong skill set for caregiving. Since I was 13, I’ve volunteered at my local church, teaching Sunday school to kindergarteners and 3rd graders. As I entered college, I began tutoring students from pre-K to 8th grade, dedicating 8 hours a week to support their learning over the past three years. Additionally, Ive completed professional development training on working with children, which has further enhanced my understanding of child behavior, communication strategies, and effective teaching methods.
I also have experience providing care for my great-grandparents, who are between the ages of 90 and 94. Ive helped assist with daily tasks, medication management, and ensuring their comfort and safety. This experience has given me a deep understanding of the patience, attentiveness, and compassion required in senior care.
In addition to this, I come from a large family, being the older sister to five younger siblings aged 7-17. Growing up, I was always involved in child care, whether it was helping with homework, managing household tasks, or providing guidance as they navigated school and life.
Currently, I live on my own as a senior at DePaul University, where Im majoring in Finance and Real Estate. Ive learned to balance school, work, and personal life, which has developed my time management and organizational skillsboth of which are essential for caregiving.
I am allergic to cats but happy to work with families with dogs. Im excited to get to know you and offer support in any way I can.
