Hello! I am 28 years old and originally from Silver Spring, MD. I am the youngest of five in my family, and I have three nieces (2, 10 and 13 years old) whom I have babysat on numerous occasions. My mother also owns a daycare, so I grew up helping her care for the children, who ranged from infants to elementary school-aged children. I have also cared for children in my neighborhood, which included picking them up from school and taking them to different locations. In terms of activities I like to do with children, I especially enjoy outdoor games and going to the pool and parks. I also enjoy playing cards and board games.
I earned a bachelors degree in history and African American studies from the University of Virginia (UVA), and worked for a small nonprofit organization focused on women’s leadership for three years in Washington, DC before moving to Chicago for graduate school. I completed my master’s in public health at University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). I do not have any children of my own.
In my free time, I like to volunteer with my undergraduate alumni club in Chicago, play sports, cook, and spend time with friends. I am conversant in Spanish.
