My name is Ramya Ramana. I am 21 years old and currently a senior at St. John’s University studying English. Throughout the past years, I’ve had taught at several different places all around the world where I was also supervising and taking care of children. My experiences include being a camp counselor in Belize for kids ages four through twelve, volunteering at children’s shelter homes in Brooklyn for kids from ages two through thirteen and tutoring various kids from where I reside in Jamaica, Queens. My experience has taught me not only to care and provide each kid with attention and honor and respect their parents’/guardian’s desires, however, also be able to connect and be friendly with them (which usually helps in getting them to listen to you). I love being around kids and thoroughly enjoy being able to give back as I was surrounded by amazing teenagers who taught me how to be better by setting an example as a positive role model. I feel it is now my turn to be that same positive role model to the kids as I am growing into my own adulthood. I am hard-working, learn quickly and am good at following instructions and implementing them as well. The world’s most precious people are the children, and it’s our duty to protect and provide for them in a way that both allows them to enjoy the present and challenge themselves to evolve for the future.
