Hello, Families!
I am an English teacher at a local high school, so I am hoping to find some summer work to keep myself busy during the summer break! I am a current AmeriCorps volunteer. I have also just been selected through the US Department of State as a Fulbright Scholar! So, I will be a visiting professor at a Rwandan university this Fall. I work with people of all ages, but in regards to children specifically Besides my daily teaching job, I tutor students for the upcoming Regents exams, and also work with transitioning newcomer/refugee youth to schools. I have worked at a full-immersion English camp in Italy for a couple months, which included many games, songs, and activities. As an English teacher, I am a big supporter of reading! Children who read frequently at a young age have a HUGE advantage, one that stays with them throughout their entire lives!! I also am an avid pinterest-er so many art crafts will come out of our time together! I am learning two languages, Spanish and French, and can share some basic lessons with your child if desired. I also love to cook and stay active! I hope most of our time will be enjoying all the fun the summer provides!! Hope to chat with you soon :)
