Hi my name is Tenacia Pierre and I’m 25 years old. My parents always trusted me with my siblings at a very young age. I started babysitting at the age of 12 years old. It started with my siblings and then because my father became a pastor and I started watching kids at my church. Then some of the parents would bring their kids from the ages 1-10 years old to my house so I can babysit. So I was basically watching kids closer to my age and that’s because people would say I was always good with kids and know how to communicate with them. Once I hit the age of sixteen every Sunday I was one of the helpers during children’s church and the duties for that was: preparing lunch, serving it them, making sure the kids were sharing and not getting out of hand. We knew a lot of people having kids so I babysat newborns. At first being 15 years old I was nervous because it wasn’t a family member it was a friends of my parent. Once I got over my nerves it became easy and I was comfortable babysitting newborns. When I was 17 years old for the whole summer I had to watch my god kids and their ages were 8,4,3 and 2. Two boys and two girls and they came over Monday-Friday 6am- whenever their mom came to pick them up. I pretty much did everything for those kids as far as; cooking, cleaning up after them, scheduling nap time, TV time for an hour, learning time. That’s when I knew I love being around kids. After I graduated I came across people that wanted me to watch their kids. Two years ago I lived with my youngest god kid who was 4 months at the time and had to take special care of him because it was sick. So I’ve pretty much have been babysitting kids most of my life and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.
