My name is Elsie Arce and I am 24 years old. I graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, CT in May 2012. I was a Teach for America corps member in Oklahoma City from June-September 2012. I recently completed my master’s classes in Neuroscience, Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities at the College of Staten Island. I will receive my official degree in August when I turn in my thesis. I will be applying for the phD program in Neuroscience at CUNY but I will not be attending until next Fall. For the the year that I am off I would love to nanny/ babysit again.

In 2013 I was a certified child care assistant for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years old at Bay Ridge Family Daycare. I was offered a supervisor position but wanted to work instead as a personal babysitter or nanny. I found that children benefit more from individual care and attention. It is extremely important that all children receive this care.

At my daycare, the majority of the infants and kids were aged 3 months-4 years old. On my floor specifically, I cared for 5 infants and 12 kids with the help of one other assistant.

After the daycare, I was a nanny for 2.5 year old twins in the lower east side, and last spring, cared for a 4 week old infant for a few weekends. Every summer, the wonderful Holmes family takes me with them to Montauk for a week to be a mother’s helper and babysitter while the parents have their fun. They have two wonderful kids, 4 and 6 years old now, whom I also care for on date nights . We go to the beach, the playground, out to eat, and sometimes just hang out around the house playing games or painting. Two of these families, including the Holmes’, found me through sittercity :)

I always give the kids the love and care they need and deserve. I care for them as if they were my own. I can cook, clean, play great games with them, and even take them out for a stroll or to the park! I am also very good with homework help. I am highly energetic and love running around and playing with kids.
