As the third eldest of 7 children, I have about 13 years of babysitting experience within my own family, as well as caring for other people’s children. You could say that babysitting comes as second nature to me!

I moved to New York two years ago for my Master’s in Art History at NYU, which I’ve just finished. For the past year and a half I’ve been the semi-regular date night sitter for a wonderful family on the Upper East Side.

Before I moved here I spent 6 months working as Education Coordinator for a charitable trust in London, delivering story-telling workshops for elementary school groups. I also organized a series of family craft workshops every weekend, which involved a lot of glitter and feathers!

Prior to this, I worked as a teaching assistant at an elementary school in East London for 6 months, working specifically with grades 2 and 3, to help improve the children’s reading and writing skills. This was extremely tough but very rewarding work, as I was able to engage even the most reluctant students by showing them how exciting writing can be.

During this time, I also worked as a part-time English tutor for children’s non-profit organization that specifically aims to help children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

I love doing creative activities with kids such as building and making things, taking them to shows and exhibitions, but I’m also absolutely up for helping with school work and maybe even teaching them a few basic cooking skills!
