Hi! My name is Annika Stout and I am a junior at Simmons College in Boston. I am a psychology major and a public health minor. After college I am planning on going to graduate school to get my master’s degree in child life. I would love to work in a hospital as a child life specialist and help make the hospital a little less scary and uncomfortable for children! Currently I volunteer at Children’s Hospital in three of the ICUs. I am also a member of my class council at Simmons where I work to plan events for my fellow classmates.
I have lots of experience working with children! In addition to volunteering at Children’s Hospital, I have been babysitting for several families since I was 13. I also worked in a preschool during high school. My freshmen year at Simmons I volunteered with Big Sister. I have also worked as a mentor for an afterschool program at Simmons for middle-school aged girls.
I am currently living off-campus and therefore am available during the summer months as well. I would enjoy working for a family close-by so that I can be available on short-notice if needed. Thank you for considering me to work with your family!
