Hello!! My name is Priscilla. I am a mother of 4 kiddos, 3 boys ages 6yr, 8yr and 10yr and one 12yr old girl. When I was 14yrs old I one day agreed to babysit my cousins baby and the moment she fell asleep in my arms I knew I just loved kids. I continued to do babysitting here and there for family members and then for neighbors and acquaintances throughout the years but stopped when I was about 22 due to some personal circumstances with my 3rd born. Previously I worked at a home daycare for 6 months but was unable to continue to work because the hours would no longer align with my schedule. However my former boss definitely can vouch for me and tell you of my great work ethic.
*About my family. First I am experienced in caring for children with certain disabilities. My oldest son has adhd and dyslexia, my 17yr old niece who I cared for on a daily basis for about 7-8yrs also has adhd as well as bipolar disorder. My 3rd born was born prematurely at 32 weeks. He was born with his lungs still underdeveloped and spent about 2 months in the NICU with sleep apnea. Because of that unfortunately circumstance I know how to care for a premature infant including using a feeding tube. My youngest child has autism spectrum disorder and motor tics. He also had a speech delay and delayed echolalia (repetition of words/phrases sometimes later after hearing it) that we overcame. Despite having my hands full over the years and currently, I have worked to overcome these stepping stones in my life and help my children to my best of my ability and will treat others children with the upmost respect and care. I have so much patience especially when it comes to others children, and I believe all children grow at their own rate and communicate in their own way. With the right guidance and motivation, they can achieve so much.
*More about me. I am bilingual. I speak both English and Spanish and have been learning sign language throughout the last 3yrs. I know most basic signs to help understand a toddler who may still not be speaking or a nonverbal child. I love to keep busy and clean when the opportunity arises and when it comes to cooking I take food safety very seriously. I do not have a college degree, but this year have been taking online training in childcare and have several certifications and 24hrs so far. Im also CPR trained and know how to handle an asthma attack and even seizures and to tell the difference in type of seizures.
