I’ve been babysitting since I was a teenager. In high school, I babysat two children (a girl and a boy who were both under six when I started) in my neighborhood three days a week after school, and I really cherished being able to watch them grow and help them learn. I also babysat occasionally for about ten other families on the Main Line, so I have a range of experience (learning disabilities, behavioral issues, allergies, etc). In addition, I am the eldest to two younger brothers, one of whom is three years younger than I am while the other is eight years younger. As such, I have acquired plenty of experience in caring for children — and especially rambunctious boys.

I just graduated this May from Emory University in Atlanta with a degree in History and a minor in French Studies. When I was a sophomore, I worked as a resident assistant, so I have had extensive training on how to handle crisis situations, including CPR. Although my training was specific to college-aged students, I definitely learned a lot of valuable lessons about diversity and empathy that I feel would contribute to positively influencing and working with children. In addition, I’ve spend the past four-and-a-half years working in various restaurants as a server, so I am quick on my toes and ready for anything! Also, I spent a semester studying in Paris, so I know quite a bit of French (B2-C1 level), although I would hesitate to use the word “fluent.”
